Connell was first screened in SA on hit reality show, Idols, and has now moved onto the internationally accredited, iShine Southern Starz.
iShine is a hugely successful American based “tween” ministry, promoting music that focuses on the growing need for having a positive effect on today’s youth. The targeted age group is in need of some new, young, fresh pop music, and Integrity Media have opened up a platform for just this. To date, Integrity have signed a few artists to carry the project – of which Connell is one of the first.
As a musician, Connell has way too many musical qualifications to mention! His vast array includes a Grade Eight piano qualification from London’s Trinity School of Music - which is pretty much as high up in piano as you can go.
Not only has he matured professionally since Idols, but musically and vocally as well. When you watch Connell perform, you’ll find an instant connection that a very few artists manage to perfect…let alone a new comer!
The current track making its rounds, “So Small”, is a live recording from one of the shows on One Gospel, DSTV Channell 331. It is a song that elaborates simple truths in a very open and honest way – rounded off by a great performance. With a smooth voice that compliments his melodic music, you can’t help but stop and listen to the message coming through.
With an album on it’s way as well as tours and live performances, expect a new household name throughout the teen and tween market.
This comes as no surprise as Connell happens to have the most charming smile in the business!
